I have to admit first that I had a somewhat odd experience with this book at first that had nothing to do with the actual book。 I thought I had opened an entirely different book on my Kindle by a suspense author and read longer into this book than I should have before figuring out I was not reading what I thought I was。 I kept thinking wow this is a departure from the author's style in her previous books， and I wonder when something bad is going to happen。 Then I got to a part where Andrew McCar I have to admit first that I had a somewhat odd experience with this book at first that had nothing to do with the actual book。 I thought I had opened an entirely different book on my Kindle by a suspense author and read longer into this book than I should have before figuring out I was not reading what I thought I was。 I kept thinking wow this is a departure from the author's style in her previous books， and I wonder when something bad is going to happen。 Then I got to a part where Andrew McCarthy is talking about something that happened to him during filming St。 Elmo's Fire， and I finally realized what book I was actually reading。 All that aside， this book that is actually a true story about Andrew McCarthy walking the 500 mile long Camino trail in Spain with his teenage son， recreating a trip he took when he was a young adult is really lovely。 I feel like some people might find it boring because it is rather repetitive， but I found it very meditative。 I could totally imagine being out there on the trail with them and encountering the people that they met along the way。 I thought it was a beautiful book， and I'm glad that I accidentally started reading it because it probably would have stayed at the bottom of my to be read pile for a very long time otherwise。 。。。more
